UMOJA MICORFINANCE SMC LTD. IS HIRING AN INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER TO JOIN OUR TEAM
ROLE OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Internal Audit Officer plans, organizes and conducts various types of internal audits that include Departments/Functional Units, special audits, compliance requirements and all branch operations. The role helps the organisation hit its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- To conduct branch/departmental audits each month according to the audit plan.
- Help audit and ensure operational effectiveness by visiting client groups in branches.
- Writing audit reports backed up with complete and clear evidence and working papers after every audit exercise.
- Performing the full audit cycle including risk assessment, planning and evolution of effective internal controls over operations, financial analysis and reliability, in addition to compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Obtaining, analyzing and evaluating accounting documentation, reports, data, flowcharts, system postings etc.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce or Finance, or other relevant disciplines is required
- Priority will be given to a candidate who has completed a professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA). Also, candidates who have partially completed a professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA), with a minimum of Level 3, are eligible
- 3+ years of related work experience, with at least 2 years spent in an internal audit role with excellent knowledge of internal audit procedures, standards and laws.
- A high degree of computer literacy demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the work environment.
- Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel long distances at short notice, including travelling overnight.
