APPLICATION GUIDELINES
2026 YOUTH TRAINING ON ANTI CORRUPTION, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND
SAFEGUARDING
1. Introduction
The purpose of the training is to strengthen Uganda’s anti-corruption efforts by providing specialized training and capacity-building initiatives for advocacy. The training will equip citizens with knowledge and tools necessary to become anti-corruption champions.
Through structured learning modules delivered by expert facilitators, the training will inspire and equip citizens to actively combat corruption and demand accountability from their leaders at different levels.
2. Purpose
The purpose of the training shall be to identify and equip Ugandan citizens with the necessary knowledge and skills to fight corruption in all its forms and manifestations. This will be achieved through tailored training and learning programmes on anti-corruption and accountability.
Learners will be trained in four modules including;
Module 1: Introduction to Anti Corruption.
Module 2: Anti Corruption Advocacy.
Module 3: Civic Engagement for Accountability
Module 4: Safeguarding in Anti-Corruption.
3. Objectives
The objectives of the training are;
1. To equip selected citizens with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to fight corruption and promote integrity and ethical leadership.
2. To enable citizens to actively participate in governance and accountability processes through advocacy, civic engagement and practical initiatives.
3. To strengthen collaboration and networking among citizens and stakeholders in advancing transparency, accountability and good governance.
4. Training Courses
The Courses offered under the training are fully funded under ACCU projects and will be offered free of charge. Participants will be expected to invest time and data in the training.
5. Course Participation and Attendance
The following guidelines shall apply while administering courses under the training;
a) Course sessions will run daily from Monday to Friday, 7:00pm – 9:00pm virtually. Each intake will last four weeks.
b) Training is modular, and participants must complete all assigned modules.
c) All assignments and assessments must be submitted on time as guided by facilitators.
d) Attendance in live sessions is required. Recordings may be accessed on request.
e) If unable to attend, participants must notify ACCU staff in advance where possible, in which case special arrangements may be considered.
f) The minimum requirement for attendance is 15 sessions (30 hours) of active engagement with attendance of all four modules. Failure to meet this requirement may may result in course failure or repeating a module or the entire course.
6. Communication, Technology and Equipment
The trainings will be delivered as follows;
a) The trainings will be delivered using virtual platforms, though physical sessions may be considered in future.
b) All communication, including; feedback, updates and announcement about the trainings will be shared with participants through their registered email addresses.
c) Communication with session facilitators must remain respectful and professional.
d) ACCU will designate an officer responsible for addressing any technical issues that may arise before or during the sessions.
e) Participants must have access to a functional device (including a computer, tablet, or smartphone) with stable internet connection, to participate in the training.
f) It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure their software and systems are up-to-date and functional.
g) ACCU shall not be responsible for technical issues caused by the participants’ equipment or internet connection.
7. Certification and Completion
a) Each participant who successfully completes the four training modules including attendance, participation, and completion of assignments, will be awarded a certificate of completion and will attend an award ceremony in Kampala.
b) Participants are required to have scored an average of 60% and above in the assessments to qualify for the certificate.
c) ACCU shall not guarantee job placement after training. Participants are encouraged to be as proactive as possible and network with their colleagues to increase opportunities of employment.
8. Requirements
a) Must be a Ugandan National.
b) Must be between the age of 15-35 years.
c) Must have a minimum level of education of UCE or its equivalent.
d) Must have an email address.
e) Attach softcopies of academic documents, national ID and/or birth certificate on the google form in the link attached.
f) Females are strongly encouraged to apply.
