TUMU Medical Institute- One of the leading Nursing and Midwifery Schools in Uganda, invites applications from qualified and competent individuals to fill the following positions:

1. DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Principal in the overall administration and management of the Institute
  • Oversee academic programs and ensure quality training standards are maintained
  • Supervise staff performance and support professional development initiatives
  • Coordinate institutional planning, reporting, and compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Act on behalf of the Principal in their absence
  • Lead a team of Tutors/Trainers in delivery of quality health education
  • Teach allocated subjects as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Health Education from a recognized institution
  • Proven teaching experience in a health training institution (minimum of 3 years preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Must be a team player and ready to work in a rural environment

2. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT / BOOKKEEPER

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and financial statements
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • File and manage statutory returns for regulatory bodies such as URA and NSSF
  •  Support audits and financial reviews

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications
  • Must be flexible and possess strong multitasking skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
