Summary
The Premises and Security Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing premises, facilities and physical security activities across FINCA Uganda. The role ensures that all offices and branches operate from safe, functional, compliant and well-maintained premises, while supporting branch relocations, refurbishment and fit-out projects, lease management, branch support, health and safety compliance, and physical security improvement initiatives including CCTV, alarms and access control systems.
Key duties and responsibilities
Coordinating maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and fit-out works for Head Office, branches and service centres.
Supporting branch relocation, remodelling and capital improvement projects to ensure delivery within approved scope, budget and timelines.
Identifying suitable premises for rent or purchase, participating in lease negotiations and maintaining an accurate tenancy schedule.
Monitoring lease obligations and ensure timely processing of rent and other landlord-related commitments.
Implementing physical security policies, standards and procedures across all FINCA Uganda locations.
Coordinating the installation, maintenance and monitoring of CCTV, alarms, access control systems, safes and related security infrastructure.
Working closely with outsourced security service providers and contractors to ensure effective service delivery and timely resolution of incidents and system issues.
Promoting compliance with health, safety and fire prevention requirements across all locations.
Supporting branches promptly on premises and security-related issues and maintaining proper documentation, issue logs and follow-up actions.
Preparing periodic reports on premises, security, incidents, risks and action plans for management review.

Good understanding of lease management, contractor supervision, building systems and workplace safety requirements.
Practical knowledge of CCTV, alarms, access control and other physical security systems.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant reporting tools.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Estates Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
Additional training in Project Management, Security Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Procurement or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
At least 3 years’ relevant experience in premises, facilities, estates, maintenance or physical security management, preferably in a service-oriented or multi-site environment.
Experience in working with landlords, contractors, consultants and outsourced service providers is required.
Proven experience in branch relocation, refurbishment, fit-out coordination or maintenance project supervision will be an added advantage.
