Watoto Church Ministries has experienced exponential growth over the past couple of years, comprising multiple Celebration Centres (Campuses) and diverse community care initiatives, including Child Care, Neighbourhood, Education, and FM Radio, among others.

Job Purpose.

The Land Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the acquisition, management, documentation, compliance and protection of all land assets, ensuring accurate records, and effective stewardship of the ministry’s land holdings. The role provides technical and administrative coordination across land surveying, due diligence, stakeholder engagements, and land use optimisation to safeguard and enhance the value and integrity of land assets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Land Acquisition and Due Diligence, coordinate land acquisition processes, conduct preliminary verification of ownership and suitability, and support due diligence activities relating to church land assets.
  2. Land Surveying Coordination and Technical Verification, coordinate land surveying activities, support verification of boundaries and land dimensions, and review technical land-related information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  3. Land Records and Documentation Management maintain accurate, secure, and up-to-date land records, including titles, leases, agreements, maps, and supporting documentation.
  4. Regulatory Compliance and Land Administration, ensure compliance with Ugandan land laws, zoning requirements, statutory obligations, and land administration processes affecting church properties.
  5. Land Asset Monitoring and Protection monitor the status and use of land assets, identify risks such as encroachment or disputes, and support implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
  1. Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement, coordinate engagement with government authorities, surveyors, valuers, legal stakeholders, local leaders, and other relevant parties on land-related matters.
  2. Strategic Land Use and Asset Optimisation, support assessment and identification of opportunities for effective utilisation, development, and value enhancement of church land assets.
  3. Risk Management and Policy Support and support development and implementation of land policies, procedures, SOPs, and risk management measures relating to land administration and protection.
  4. Reporting and Data Analysis, prepare periodic reports on land status, compliance, utilisation, risks, and opportunities to support informed decision-making.
  5. Cross-functional and Project Support, provide land-related coordination and technical support to internal departments, projects, and organisational initiatives involving land assets.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • The applicant for the role should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Land management, Land Surveying, Real Estate Management or related fields from a recognised University and Institution.
  • Have at least a minimum of 3 years of experience in land administration, property management, or a related field, preferably within Uganda.
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory standards on Land management in
    Uganda is essential.
  • Risk identification and mitigation skills related to land assets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with government authorities and technical experts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with asset management systems is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution and grievance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple land-related priorities
  • Proven excellent report writing skills.
