Gem Zavanna (EA) Ltd,
About the role
Gem Zavanna (EA) Ltd, an East African arts management consultancy based in Kampala, Uganda, is hiring a Partnerships & Communications Coordinator to support the growth of its work across arts management, cultural exchange, and creative programming, including Arts+ Wellness programs such as WellFest Uganda, the Arts+ Migration Art Fair, and arts management consultancy projects.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll sit at the centre of how Gem Zavanna grows: opening and managing corporate partnerships, supporting sponsorship acquisition, coordinating communications, and building the audiences and visibility behind our programs. It’s a hybrid, Kampala-based role with occasional projects and partnerships across East Africa.
What success looks like
In your first three months, you’ll have an active corporate outreach pipeline of around 100 organizations contacted, 25+ stakeholder meetings coordinated, your first 10 partnership or sponsorship proposals submitted, and consistent communications running across our channels. Beyond that, success is measured by partnerships and sponsorships secured, audiences grown, and strong, well-managed stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and secure sponsors, partners, exhibitors, and vendors, and manage the partnership pipeline.
- Support sponsorship acquisition and proposal development.
- Plan and run communications and social media across Gem Zavanna programs.
- Coordinate media engagement and event promotion.
- Build stakeholder relationships and keep clear outreach records and reporting.
Qualifications
- Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Business, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2+ years in communications, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or business development.
- Strong writing and relationship-building skills; confident with social and digital platforms.
- Highly organized and proactive, able to work independently.
- A plus: experience securing sponsorships or partnerships, or working in arts, events, or the corporate/nonprofit sector.
