YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor – Inland Container Depot (ICD) to lead, manage, and optimize ICD operations by ensuring operational excellence, efficient use of facilities, compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivery of safe, cost-effective, and high-quality logistics services that drive profitability and customer satisfaction.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Strategic leadership & Operational Management • Lead end-to-end ICD operations, including container handling, verification, yard management, gate operations, documentation flow, and dispatch.
• Ensure smooth coordination of inbound and outbound cargo movements.
• Optimize yard planning, container stacking, space utilization, equipment deployment, and turnaround times.
• Maintain high operational productivity while meeting service level agreements and customer expectations.
• Implement and Continuously assess and improve standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
• Ensure optimal utilization of facilities, equipment, and human resources while minimizing costs, including fuel and equipment usage.
• Lead, supervise, and develop ICD staff, including performance management and coaching.
• Allocate responsibilities, manage workloads, and ensure accountability across teams.
• Align and ensure clearance with UNBS, URA, CROP and other MDA/stakeholders for timely clearance of cargo.
Commercial and Customer Service Support • Support business growth by aligning ICD capabilities with customer requirements and CEVA’s service offerings.
• Work closely with commercial, key account, and customer service teams to deliver reliable and competitive logistics solutions.
• Manage customer performance metrics, service issues, and escalation resolution.
• Identify opportunities for value-added services, throughput growth, and improved asset utilization.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management • Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal functions (e.g., customs declaration, Customer Service, Operations, security, safety) to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Act as the operational contact for external stakeholders including URA, UNBS and other external partners.
• Represent the ICD in management reviews, audits, and customer/regulator meetings.
Compliance, Safety & Security • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, yard requirements, local laws, and CEVA policies.
• Maintain high standards of safety, security, and cargo handling within all ICD facilities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure regular audits, training, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Supervise and enforce effective gate control and cargo verification processes.
• Maintain compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
Financial & Performance Management • Collaborate depot P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and productivity improvement.
• Monitor KPIs such as dwell time, truck turnaround, rail turnaround, yard utilization, handling productivity, damage rates, and on-time dispatch.
• Drive cost optimization in labor, equipment, maintenance, utilities, and subcontracted services.
Reporting and Monitoring • Ensure timely and accurate cargo tracking reporting systems with 100% data quality for all ICD Teams.
• Prepare operational performance and financial reports for senior leadership within the desired timelines and possible actions.
• Timely communication updates on operational progress to the internal teams.
• Update the cargo tracking system with new information as it becomes available.
• Inform the respective stakeholders of any changes in rules and or regulations.
Additional Responsibilities • Perform any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisors.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelors Degree in Transport and Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any other related course.
- A minimum of Five (5) years working experience in handling ICD operations in a Logistics Industry.
- Postgraduate qualification in Transport, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management or related course is desirable.
- Strong operational leadership and decision-making ability.
- Deep understanding of ICD, container handling, transport, and customs processes.
- Stakeholder and regulatory relationship management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
