Job Summary:

The Broker Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing the broker distribution channel through effective relationship management, business development, and service delivery. The role serves as the primary liaison between the Company and its broker network, driving profitable business growth, strengthening broker engagement, and ensuring high standards of service and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote, identify, and onboard new brokers to expand the broker network.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new brokers to expand the Company’s intermediary network.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to drive business growth and retention.
  • Serve as the primary contact for brokers, ensuring timely resolution of queries and service-related matters.
  • Promote the Company’s products and services, providing brokers with relevant product, underwriting, and market information.
  • Drive achievement of broker channel revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify business opportunities within the broker market and develop initiatives to increase market share.
  • Monitor broker performance and implement actions to improve productivity and business retention.
  • Analyse broker portfolio performance and provide regular management reports and market insights.
  • Support brokers with sales presentations, marketing initiatives, and business development activities.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between brokers and internal teams including Underwriting, Claims, Customer Service, and Finance.
  • Support the efficient processing of quotations, renewals, endorsements, and claims arising from broker business.
  • Maintain accurate broker records and channel performance data.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards governing intermediary business.
  • Keep abreast of market developments, competitor activities, and industry trends affecting broker distribution.

Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in insurance sales, business development, account management, or intermediary relationship management.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and intermediary operations.
  • Ability to analyse sales performance data and identify growth opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting tools.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Working conditions

The Job’s responsibilities may sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice, working with challenging clients.

Leadership Development Track

The Broker Account Executive is on the Commercial-Channel Leadership Track, designed for high-potential professionals who manage external distribution networks.

This track emphasizes channel strategy, partner development, performance management, and strategic sales growth through broker relationships.

The role is foundational for progression into leadership roles across partnerships, sales networks, and ultimately business development management.

Over time, the individual is expected to transition from operational channel execution to a strategic oversight role, shaping the company’s distribution landscape.

Role Expectations.

  • Consistently achieves or exceeds broker channel revenue and portfolio growth targets.
  • Maintains strong, productive relationships with key brokers, resulting in high retention and increased share of business.
  • Delivers timely and effective support to brokers, contributing to improved service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Identifies and converts new business opportunities within the intermediary market, expanding the Company’s broker footprint.
  • Maintains a compliant, well-managed broker portfolio with accurate reporting, strong governance, and minimal operational issues.
