Purpose

As an Assembly & Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in building, servicing, and maintaining eBee’s electric bicycles to the highest quality and safety standards. You will assemble bikes from Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits into ready-to-ride products, carry out inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance, and support battery swap operations to keep our fleet and customers moving.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone who enjoys working with bicycles and solving mechanical challenges. You will assemble electric bicycles using the Odoo Manufacturing system, inspect and test completed bikes, diagnose and repair faults, and perform routine servicing for both fleet and customer bicycles. You will also support battery swap operations as needed, helping ensure reliable service, operational efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

Bicycle Assembly

  • Assemble electric bicycles from Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits into fully functional, ready-to-ride products.
  • Follow standard assembly procedures and production plans to ensure accurate and efficient assembly.
  • Install, connect, calibrate, and test mechanical and electrical components.

Inspection, Diagnostics & Repairs

  • Inspect bicycles and components before, during, and after assembly to ensure quality, safety, and performance standards are met.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs and servicing for fleet and customer bicycles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and replace defective or worn components as required.

Quality & Safety

  • Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly and maintenance process to ensure compliance with eBee’s quality standards.
  • Identify, report, and resolve assembly or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, adhering to health and safety requirements.

Operations Support

  • Support battery swap operations and other workshop activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, repairs, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production, maintenance, and service targets.

General

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Lead Technician or Operations Manager in support of business and operational objectives.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in assembly, mechanical repairs, or technical maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of electric bicycles, motorcycles, or similar electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical assembly, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Ability to use torque tools and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, accountable, and proactive with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in electric mobility, automotive assembly, a technical workshop, or using an ERP/manufacturing management system is an added advantage.
