These are full-time faculty positions based in Kampala, Uganda.
Instructor / Assistant Lecturer -Nursing & Midwifery
Instructor / Assistant Lecturer -Anatomy
Instructor / Assistant Lecturer – Biochemistry / Microbiology
The incumbents will report to the Vice Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses.
- Actively contribute to the body of nursing knowledge through research and publication.
- Provide student mentorship, counselling, and academic support.
- Contribute to academic administration and program development offered by SONAM.
- Maintain active clinical practice and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
For the Nursing & Midwifery position: Bachelor of Nursing Science with a Master of Science in Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized university.
For the Anatomy position: Master of Science in Human Anatomy with undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Nursing Science or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences from a recognized university.
For the Biochemistry / Microbiology position: Master of Science in Biochemistry or Microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized university.
Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education and PhD qualifications will be an added advantage.
Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body, where applicable.
Other collective requirements
- A current practicing license.
- At least two (2) years of clinical/teaching experience in a hospital or academic institution.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
