Job Summary

 

The AC/Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for the installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The role ensures that HVAC-R equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably through effective diagnosis, servicing, and timely corrective actions.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC-R equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment such as industrial freezers, chillers, compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
  • Inspect, test, and replace defective electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration circuit components.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair requests.
  • Conduct refrigerant charging, leak detection, and system performance checks in accordance with technical standards.
  • Identify required spare parts, tools, and materials and submit requisitions for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and equipment conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, health regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance teams to complete assigned tasks efficiently and within required timelines.
  • Provide support for AC electrical works and related maintenance activities when required.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

 

  • Degree or Diploma  in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering, or any related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in AC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC-R systems, refrigeration cycles, and AC electrical controls.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system faults.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
