Job Summary

The Accounts Assistant plays a key role in supporting the organizations day-to-day financial operations. This position is responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and supporting compliance and reporting functions. The finance officer reports directly to the finance manager and collaborates with various departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Work Station – Kigumba, Kiryandongo District

Process, record, and verify financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, expenses, revenue/sales, and labor-related activities.
Perform physical stock counts, verify inventory, and reconcile stock positions across multiple sites against system balances.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.
Identify financial discrepancies and monitor expenditures to support cost control and adherence to financial policies.
Maintain and organize financial documentation, ensuring timely and secure filing.
Assist with internal and external audits and ad-hoc inquiries by preparing necessary documentation and providing detailed explanations as required
Prepare financial summaries and reports for review by the Finance Manager
Ensure compliance with established financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Liaise with other departments to gather relevant financial data and support cross-functional activities.
Relevant Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Option, CPA or ACCA (Completed or in advanced stage) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of financial processes, reconciliations, and cost monitoring.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in inventory or stock reconciliation is a plus.
