Role Description
The Facilities, Safety & Admin Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities that support Beyond Logistics Ltd’s 3PL operations. Day-to-day tasks include supervising facility maintenance, coordinating repairs, monitoring utilities and workplace infrastructure, and supporting minor construction or fit-out projects. The role involves implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, organizing safety drills, and supporting staff training on health, safety, and emergency protocols. In addition, the engineer manages administrative duties such as maintaining documentation and records, coordinating office services and supplies, supporting compliance with regulatory and company standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address operational needs.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Facility Management (FM) skills to oversee maintenance, workplace infrastructure, and service providers.
- Candidates should possess Training capabilities to support safety awareness, operational procedures, and staff development.
- Candidates should possess Administration skills for documentation, coordination of office services, and record management.
- Candidates should possess Construction-related skills to support minor projects, fit-outs, and facility improvements.
- Candidates should possess Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, data tracking, and communication.
- Relevant academic background in engineering, facilities management, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards in Uganda.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site in a fast-paced logistics environment.
