Company Overview:
Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Manager – Transactional Products to drive the integration and growth of the Transactional Products and Liabilities (TPL) portfolio. This role involves developing strategies, enhancing profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Product Integration and Business Growth:

  • Align TPL Products: Ensure TPL products are in sync with customer value propositions (CVPs) and the business operating model by collaborating with customer service teams for effective execution.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market assessments and prepare proposals for new TPL products and services based on the products and pricing manual. Secure approvals and oversee the implementation of these products.
  • Training: Educate all sales staff on newly approved products to ensure consistent and informed product promotion.
  • Product Analysis: Perform segment-wise analysis of products such as current accounts, savings, fixed deposits, and call accounts to identify trends impacting the balance sheet.
  • Strategy Development: Establish TPL product strategies, including risk appetites, pricing, and portfolio optimization, in line with PPB Product strategy.
  • Revenue Growth: Identify and implement initiatives to optimize revenue, ensuring alignment with the New Products Proposal Committee’s guidelines.

2. Profitability Management:

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor product performance and profitability using financial and product performance reports provided by the MI team.
  • Budgeting: Collaborate with the Finance Manager, Head of Products, and Segment Heads to contribute to product budgeting for Net Interest Margins and Net Interest Revenues.
  • Pricing Governance: Participate in pricing committee discussions and adhere to the pricing manual to govern product pricing effectively.
  • Cost Management: Minimize product costs through process optimization and leveraging cost-effective digital channels.
  • Leakage Prevention: Review transaction volume reports to identify and prevent income leakages.
  • Acquisition and Retention: Develop and share effective acquisition and retention strategies with sales teams to achieve profitability targets.

3. Customer Service Excellence:

  • Customer Insights: Gather insights by visiting customers with Relationship Managers and attending customer forums. Use these insights to refine product offerings.
  • Sales Tactics: Develop targeted sales and cross-sell strategies aligned with customer value propositions for different segments.
  • Dormancy and Attrition Management: Monitor dormancy and attrition trends for liabilities and implement initiatives to reduce them.

Key Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 7-10 years of experience in product management, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
    • Proven expertise in strategic and tactical product development, understanding customer behavior, and interest rate management.
    • Strong experience in product design, development, and market analysis.
