About International Sanctuary:

International Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking by providing meaningful employment, education, and holistic care. Established over 16 years ago, the organization currently operates sanctuaries in India, Uganda, and the Philippines, offering safe and supportive communities where women can rebuild their lives with access to holistic care services such as education, counseling, community support and mentoring, addressing the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of each individual and helping survivors overcome the core challenges they face after escaping exploitation.

In Uganda, many girls face extreme poverty and a high unemployment rate, making them vulnerable to trafficking. Recognizing the transformative power of economic empowerment and education, International Sanctuary created a program fostering survivors’ self-sufficiency and empowerment. The first sanctuary opened in Mumbai in 2007, followed by others, and the Kampala Sanctuary in 2017.

The organization operates through four core pillars – employment, education, healthcare, and community – empowering young women to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope for a brighter future. By fostering a sense of belonging, the community within the sanctuaries enables survivors to heal collectively and support each other on their journey to recovery.Job Description: Teacher – Adult Literacy & Capacity Building
