Job Title : Registered Nurses with critical care skills (ALS & BLS)
Department : Nursing
Reports To : Manager ICU/HDU
Location : Mengo Hospital, Kampala
Job Summary: Care for patients who are critically ill or recovering from major surgeries with advanced clinical skills, quick decision-making, and emotional resilience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine Patient Monitoring and Assessment
- Administering Treatments and Medications
- Critical Decision-Making and Emergency Response
- Use and Management of Advanced Equipment
- Documentation of patients’ data and
- Effective Communication with the healthcare teams and patient families
- Family Support and Education during critical moments and Help families make informed decisions, especially in end-of-life care
- Infection Control and Safety; Follow strict hygiene and infection prevention protocols
- Maintain confidentiality and the right to privacy.
Position requirements (Job and Person specifications)
- Minimum qualification; Diploma in Nursing from an accredited/recognised institution
- MUST be registered with the relevant body in Uganda to practice Nursing.
- Must posess critical care (ALS & BLS) certificate
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Critical areas I.e. ICU/HDU/A&E practice from a recognized institution
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and staff.
- Detail-oriented and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Available to work for Mengo Hospital on fulll time
