Lotus Brand is hiring a Tax Consultant responsible for providing expert tax advice and services to our clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax planning, and staying abreast of changes in tax legislation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Location: Hill Top Kololo, Uganda
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Manage tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with all local and national tax laws and regulations.
Tax Planning:
- Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and optimization.
- Develop and implement tax strategies tailored to clients’ specific needs.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of business transactions.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
- Communicate complex tax information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Address client inquiries and resolve tax-related issues.
Research and Analysis:
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support client engagements.
- Prepare detailed tax reports and recommendations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for clients and internal use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA, CPA, CTP, or equivalent certification.
- 3-5 years of experience in tax consulting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws in Uganda and international tax principles.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with a diverse client base.
