Position Description
Job Title: PROJECT COORDINATOR – SALES ACQUISITION & PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Reports To: Business Development Manager Stanbic for Her
Job Function Lead the acquisition, onboarding, activation, retention, and growth of women clients under the Stanbic for Her programme while coordinating project implementation activities to ensure achievement of project objectives, sales targets, financial inclusion outcomes, and donor requirements. The Project Coordinator will drive the mobilization of women groups and individual women into the Stanbic ecosystem through account acquisition, digital banking adoption, access to finance, financial literacy, and business development support services.

The role is accountable for delivering agreed sales and portfolio growth targets, coordinating project teams, managing stakeholders, monitoring project performance, and ensuring sustainability dimensions including gender inclusion, environmental, and economic empowerment are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

Job purpose Stanbic Bank Uganda, under Stanbic for Her, seeks to reach 1,500,000 women by providing a comprehensive package of financial and non-financial services anchored in a graduation model. The Project Coordinator will serve as the primary driver of client acquisition and project execution, ensuring women are successfully onboarded onto group accounts, individual accounts, FlexiPay wallets, merchant solutions, SACCO digitization platforms, Enterprise Online Banking, and other financial products while coordinating all project activities, partnerships, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Responsibilities  

Responsible for driving sales acquisition, client onboarding, portfolio growth, and project implementation under the Stanbic for Her programme. The Project Coordinator will lead and supervise project teams to achieve customer acquisition, activation, retention, and financial inclusion targets while ensuring effective planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The role oversees the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist and Project Officers to deliver project objectives, business growth targets, and donor requirements.

Person Specification

Experience 

2–4 years’ experience in banking, financial services, sales, business development, customer acquisition, relationship management, or financial inclusion programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in sales acquisition, customer onboarding, portfolio growth, and retention initiatives.
• Experience mobilizing and engaging community groups, women’s groups, SACCOs, cooperatives, or SMEs is an added advantage.
• Experience coordinating projects, programmes, or business development initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to achieve sales, customer acquisition, and performance targets.
• Exposure to leading, supervising, or coordinating teams and field-based activities.
• Experience in digital financial services, agency banking, mobile money, or digital banking solutions is desirable.

 

Knowledge Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Knowledge of sales management, customer acquisition, portfolio management, and relationship management principles.
• Strong understanding of financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, and community-based development programmes.
• Knowledge of banking products and services including savings, lending, digital banking, payments, insurance, and merchant solutions.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and programme implementation frameworks.
• Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
• Broad understanding of banking operations, business development, and financial services industry trends.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and performance reporting.
• Sound understanding of finance, budgeting, and financial management principle
