Job Description: Operational Coach

Hours: Full-time fixed – possibility of further work

Location: Remote within Uganda

Posted: June 2026

Rural Aquaculture Development is excited to recruit an operational coach with some professional experience who can expand and support our service delivery model for small scale pond-based aquaculture farms in East Africa. As a growing business dedicated to smallholder success, we’re offering a unique opportunity to be part of the rollout and scaling of an innovative aquaculture model.

This unique approach focuses on building local hubs and supporting the hub owner operators that in turn support a wider network of small and medium-sized local fish farmers, helping them improve their farming practices and get their products to market. We work with partners to make sure our model is strong and can be easily replicated across the region.

RAD Global is now an international team that helps with the strategy and implementation of hubs in East Africa. The hub owner operators are the ones on the ground – in charge of the day-to-day operations of each hub.

RAD Global is also developing RADiCool an affordable, solar-powered cold-chain system designed to reduce post-harvest losses for smallholder fish farmers and fish traders in East Africa. RADiCool is a cold-chain solution that combines insulated cool boxes, phase change material (PCM) cooling panels, solar-powered charging hubs, and loT temperature monitoring.

The PCM technology cools fish from 25 °C to below 5 °C in under four hours and maintain safe temperatures for up to 48 hours without continuous electricity.

Who is RAD?

RAD is a Ugandan fish farm business supporting the local aquaculture sector through an innovative hub-and-spoke service delivery model. We provide smallholder producers with access to markets, hatcheries, Black Soldier Fly (BSF) feed, cold chain technology, and technical expertise.

RAD’s mission is to reduce poverty, improve food security, and restore the environment through economically sustainable, bottom-up engagement.
