The International Community of Women living with HIV Eastern Africa (ICWEA) under its Leadership Training Centre and the HIV Prevention Academy launches the Call for “HIV PREVENTION CHAMPIONS”

 

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

  • Are you a young woman aged 18–30 years living in Kampala Metropolitan? Are you passionate about advancing HIV prevention among young people?
  • The International Community of Women Living with HIV Eastern Africa (ICWEA) is looking for motivated and passionate young people (young women will be given priority) to join a network of HIV Prevention Champions who will advocate for increased access to HIV prevention information, services, and choices for young people in Uganda.
  • If you are committed to creating change in your community, eager to learn, and willing to use your voice to promote HIV prevention, we want to hear from you!

WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants must:

Be a young people (young women will be the majority) aged 18–30 years

Reside in Kampala Metropolitan

Be passionate about HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and youth leadership

Be willing to participate in trainings, advocacy activities, and community engagements

Be available to commit time to championing HIV prevention in their communities

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

Training on HIV prevention, PrEP, and advocacy

Leadership and public speaking skills

Knowledge on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)

ROLE OF HIV PREVENTION CHAMPIONS

Raise awareness about HIV prevention options, including PrEP

Mobilize peers to access HIV prevention services

Participate in advocacy campaigns and dialogues

Support efforts to ensure young people have access to prevention choices that work for them
