OvrtiLabs Tech Systems is building a project team for a significant agricultural insurance assignment. We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to join us.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development and farmer enrollment strategies across the project
- Manage relationships with insurers, government agencies, financial institutions, and implementing partners
- Support large-scale insurance rollouts through cooperatives, SACCOs, MFIs, and farmer groups
- Design and deliver farmer sensitisation and awareness campaigns in West Nile, Western Uganda, and Karamoja
- Support integration of insurance products into financial institution portfolios
- Coordinate with the IT and insurance expert team members to align commercial and technical functions
- Track uptake metrics and provide field-informed recommendations
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Development, Business Administration, Climate Risk Management, Inclusive Insurance, or related field
Experience Required
- 8-10 years proven experience in agricultural insurance business development in Uganda or similar Sub-Saharan African markets
- Demonstrated experience managing and growing agricultural insurance portfolios within Uganda with solid UAIS knowledge
- Proven track record driving insurance uptake in underserved rural markets
- Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder environments or national scheme setting
- Strong capability in organising and delivering farmer sensitisation campaigns
- Experience implementing technology-enabled solutions including digital enrollment and mobile platforms
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
- Existing networks with farmer cooperatives, VSLAs, SACCOs, and MFIs in Uganda
