Job Summary: The position holder will support community-based clinical and immunological research activities for the VacICoP (Marburg Correlates of Protection) project. The role involves participant recruitment, informed consent, biological sample collection and handling, longitudinal follow-up, and high-quality data capture, ensuring strict compliance with approved protocols, GCP/GCLP standards, and ethical requirement
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support identification, screening, enrolment, and retention of study participants;
- Conduct informed consent and maintain ethical engagement with communities;
- Coordinate field activities with district health and security authorities;
- Support collection, labelling, temporary storage, and transport of clinical samples under cold chain conditions;
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of CRFs and electronic data capture tools;
- Support participant follow-up to minimise loss to follow-up;
- Adhere to biosafety, infection prevention, and PPE protocols;
- Participate in community engagement and trust-building activities;and
- Promptly report adverse events and protocol deviations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or biological sciences field;
- Experience in community-based clinical or epidemiological research;
- Demonstrated competence in participant engagement and sample collection;
- Valid certification in GCP, GCLP, and Human Subjects Protection (within the last two years);
- Experience working within Ministry of Health or district-level structures;
- Strong organisational, communication, and documentation skills;
- Willingness to travel and work across multiple field sites; and
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office
