Job Summary

The Prevention Officer is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Global Fund/TASO HIV-TB project interventions across assigned cluster districts. The role provides technical assistance to district health teams, health facilities, community structures, and implementing partners to ensure high-quality implementation of project activities in line with national guidelines, donor requirements, and project objectives.

Overall Responsibilities
  1. Take lead in planning, coordination and implementation of Global Fund/ TASO HIV-TB project activities in the cluster districts.
  2. Provide technical assistance during implementation of the Global Fund/ TASO funded activities through planning, mobilizing and on-site implementation of activities based on the project’s technical approach and national guidelines.
  3. Work closely with the regional M&E Officer and regional Cluster Coordinator to update and maintain the Global Fund-TASO activity tracker regularly.
  4. Conduct timely documentation of activities implemented and ensure monthly and quarterly reporting of project achievements in collaboration with the regional M&E Officers.
  5.  Establish collaborations and strength partner coordination with key stakeholders including; comprehensive partners, civil society, and district and community structures for effective and efficient implementation of the Global Fund / TASO project funded activities.
  6. Strengthen referral and linkages between community service delivery points and health facilities for AGYW HIV, SRH, GBV services and patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis.
  7. Establish District Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Community Quality Improvement teams to support implementation of AGYW risk reduction plans in identified communities.
  8. Develop timely activity trip plans, budgets and implementation plans on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  9. Represent the project in Districts meetings including extended DHT meetings, comprehensive partners’ meetings when invited and district technical working group activities where Baylor is required to participate.
  10. Document project success stories, case studies and blogs for sharing with a wider audience
  11. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor/ Prevention Manager/management.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
  • ·       Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and or health related discipline·       Ability and willingness to travel within the supported districts·       Ability to organize, analyse, interpret and program performance data.·       Must be able or willing to ride a motorcycle and spend 80% of his/her time in the field work.
  • ·       Experience of working with donor funded projects is an advantage.
  • ·       Experience of working in remote districts is an advantage.
  • ·       At least two years’ work experience implementing AGYW or DREAMS Initiative is an added advantage
  • 2 Years Relevant Experience
