About The Role
GAIN is seeking to recruit a Procurement and Logistics Officer to support the day-to-day procurement of goods and services for the Uganda Country Office, ensuring procurement activities are delivered efficiently and in compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements, and applicable regulations to enable effective programme implementation and country office operations.
This role will be offered on a one (1) year fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Kampala, Uganda. This advert closes on 28th July 2026. Key Responsibilities include.
- Serve as the procurement focal point for the Uganda Country Office, coordinating the procurement of goods, services, and consultancy contracts in accordance with organisational procurement policies, donor requirements, ethical procurement practices, and national regulations.
- Support programme and operational teams by providing procurement input to project funding proposals, including anticipated procurement requirements, lead times, and cost estimates.
- Support Project Managers in planning and coordinating procurement activities by maintaining procurement plans, tracking procurement requests, and following up on procurement timelines.
- Prepare procurement documentation, including requests for quotations, tender documents, bid evaluations, purchase orders, contracts, and supplier due diligence documentation.
- Coordinate transport arrangements for personnel, goods, and services.
- Coordinate the loading, dispatch, and receipt of goods for projects and partner organisations.
- Facilitate customs clearance processes by liaising with clearing agents, relevant government authorities, and internal stakeholders, including the processing of applicable duty exemptions.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess experience in procurement and logistics within a well-structured organization and will possess technical knowledge of procurement and logistics management.
You will have experience in procurement planning, market intelligence, vendors due diligence, competitive bidding processes, contract formulation, review of commitments, and logistics management. Knowledge of international donor agencies procurement rules and regulations is required. Experience working within non-profit settings preferred.
Professional certification in procurement, logistics and supply chain would be an added advantage.
About Our Offer
The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from UGX 44,256,588 – UGX 50,702,928 gross per annum, depending on experience. Staff Benefits Summary
