Overview
The Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating the company’s daily operational activities, with
a primary focus on the accurate and timely processing of FERI/COD applications. The role ensures
efficient service delivery through the verification of shipping documentation, maintenance of accurate
records, and effective client communication. The successful candidate will uphold high standards of
accuracy, professionalism, and compliance while supporting the company’s logistics and clearing &
forwarding operations.
Main accountabilities include:

  • Process all FERI/COD applications accurately and within prescribed turnaround times (Min: 5 to
    10minutes).
  • Verify, review, and validate all shipping and supporting documentation received from clients
    before processing.
  • Ensure that all mandatory documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with OGEFREM
    standard and client requirements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries via email and telephone/ WhatsApp.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all applications, correspondence, and operational
    activities.
  • Monitor application progress and proactively follow up on pending documentation to avoid
    delays.
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of all client information and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and service level agreements
    (SLAs).
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer
    service.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and accuracy under pressure while managing multiple
    client applications simultaneously.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to operational activities.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by management that are consistent with the scope of the
    position

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Shipping, Freight Forwarding,
    Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience with sound understanding of logistics, import/export
    documentation, shipping processes, and freight forwarding operations.
  • Knowledge of FERI/COD documentation and application processes will be a distinct
    advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with accurate typing abilities
  • Experience working with document management systems or operational databases will be
    advantageous.

  • Proficiency in interpreting shipping and commercial documentation, with the adaptability to
    thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
    Working Conditions:
  • Willingness and flexibility to work evening shifts and out of station or extended hours when
    operationally required.
  • Full-time office-based environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Accuracy of processed FERI/COD applications.
  • Turnaround time for application processing.
  • Client satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Compliance with SOPS and documentation standards.
  • Achievement of departmental productivity targets.
