Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
- 1. Screen, consent, enrol, and follow study participants
- 2. Conduct study interviews and complete study source documents and case report forms
- 3. Perform basic obstetric ultrasound examinations to support determination of gestational age and pregnancy assessments, as required by the protocol
- 4. Provide counselling and education to study participants regarding study procedures and maternal health
- 5. Monitor participants throughout pregnancy and support follow-up during the postpartum period
- 6. Identify, collect, verify, and document maternal, pregnancy, birth, and neonatal outcomes from participants and medical records
- 7. Work closely with antenatal, maternity, labour ward, neonatal, and postnatal care teams to facilitate outcome ascertainment.
- 8. Collect biological specimens and ensure appropriate processing and transport according to study procedures
- 9. Participate in data collection, data entry, and maintenance of study records.
- 10. Support initiation, monitoring, and documentation of TB preventive therapy according to study procedures
- 11. Participate in study meetings and communicate with study investigators and other study staff
- 12. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- DIPLOMA : Diploma or BaDegree in Midwifery from a recognised institution. – Mandatory
Certifications:
- Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Responsible Conduct of Research(RCR) or Human Subjects Protection (HSP). – Mandatory
- Certificate in Sonography from a reputable institution. – Mandatory
- Registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council – Mandatory
Skill & Experience:
- Clinical trial experience – Added Advantage
- Experience in HIV, TB, maternal health, or implementation science research – Added Advantage
- Communication skills – Mandatory
- Team work – Mandatory
- Experience providing antenatal, maternity, or reproductive health services – Added Advantage
